Hi! I’m Geeta.

For the past 15 years, I’ve been a prolific journalist and critic, writing on music, art, technology, and culture.

I’ve written hundreds of articles and reviews for major publications including The Guardian, Wired, The Boston Globe, Frieze, Slate, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times.

I wrote a critically acclaimed book on Brian Eno, Another Green World, which was published by Bloomsbury. My essays also appear in anthologies published by Oxford University Press, Faber & Faber, Simon & Schuster, Da Capo, and many more.

I give talks on a regular basis at universities and museums worldwide, and I’ve taught several courses at the college level. In the past, I worked at the MIT Center for Future Civic Media, and was a Ford Fellow at UC Berkeley.

I have two undergraduate degrees from MIT, and a master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School.

I’ve been lucky to receive grants to support my work, including a major grant from Creative Capital / The Andy Warhol Foundation in the Arts Writers Program. If you’re interested in supporting my writing, you can do it directly through Patreon.

  1. I enjoyed your rhizome article. I teach a course at NYU’s ITP called sound and the city, and have presented on sound warfare at Ed Keller’s Shockwave Rider symposium, and found your article just now and wished I had seen it before.

Thanks, and if you are coming to new york and wish to visit the class or sit on the jury, please do let me know

  2. I recently came so close to aquiring the original lp from 1982 SYNTHESIZING 1O RAGAS TO A DISCOBEAT but unfortunately it slipped away from me to someone who had more money at the time. What can you do…. such is life as they say

I’m enjoying your commentary — right now –in the Brian Eno: The Man Who Fell to Earth DVD. Will have to check out your book soon, as AGW has long been a favorite LP.

Your review of Goodman’s Sonic Warfare was very helpful; I’ll certainly have a read of your articles, as well.
